Jeff Motley was named director of public relations at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in January of 1999. In 2003, he was promoted to senior director of public relations at LVMS. In 2009, he was promoted to vice president of public relations.
Before coming to Las Vegas, Motley was the communications manager for NASCAR where he was responsible for all on-site media relations for the NASCAR Winston Cup Series and the NASCAR Busch Series.
A 1990 graduate of Virginia Tech, Motley spent 10 years in the journalism profession. After an internship at The Washington Post and graduation from Virginia Tech, Motley spent four years as a sportswriter in Lynchburg, Va. In 1994, he was promoted to sports editor, a position he held until joining NASCAR.
Motley also has been a college football correspondent for FOX Sports Net, hosted his own daily sports talk show in Virginia and has been a contributing writer for numerous publications including several books.
A native of Martinsville, Va., Jeff and his wife Lisa live in Las Vegas with their Boston Terriers Dallas and Denver.
